Board Member | Founder & Research Director of Islam and Society
As the Founder and Research Director of Halaqah Tingz, Asha is committed to making complex Islamic concepts accessible, relatable, and meaningful. She founded Halaqah Tingz to build a grounded Islamic community in the DMV area, with a special focus on supporting and engaging younger generations. Asha brings a unique blend of expertise in Islamic Studies and Biological Sciences, paired with a deep passion for charitable initiatives and uplifting underserved communities.
In addition to her leadership role, Asha is a 2x published author, using her writing to further spread knowledge and inspire reflection. She is dedicated to advancing the mission of Halaqah Tingz, expanding Islamic learning, and growing alongside the community she serves, in shā’ Allāh.
Asizat K., B.S.
Board Member | Executive Director & Chief Advisor
Asizat leads our nonprofit as Executive Director, bringing a unique blend of professional expertise and heartfelt dedication to community building. She is a Physical Therapist Assistant with a focus on Pelvic Health and is also pursuing her passion for floral and event design under the mentorship of Ariko Events. A Muslim by birth, Asizat consciously renewed her shahada in 2022, embracing her faith through active practice and intentional living.
She is deeply committed to fostering knowledge, growth, and connection—both within her professional fields and in the community she serves. Asizat is thrilled to guide and grow with our members, helping create a space where learning, empowerment, and faith come together, in shā’ Allāh.
Azeeza Olaleye-Hayles
Board Member | Member at Large
Azeeza serves as a Member at Large on the Halaqah Tingz Board, where she is passionate about fostering meaningful connections among women seeking spiritual growth and deeper closeness to Allah. She believes in the power of sisterhood—uplifting one another through shared knowledge, prayer, and encouragement—to cultivate positivity and purpose in the community.
With a background in counseling, leadership, and team-building, Azeeza has extensive experience supporting individuals through challenging moments and helping teams cultivate camaraderie and belonging. She is known for creating welcoming spaces where people feel heard, valued, and supported.
Azeeza is inspired by Halaqah Tingz’s vision to nurture the spirit, sharpen the mind, empower personal growth, and foster deep, meaningful connections. She is honored to contribute her skills and heart for service to help strengthen and uplift the community.
