Ayat Reflection | Al-Rum (30:21)

“And (it is one) of His signs that He has created spouses for you from your own species that you may find comfort in them. And He has induced mutual love and tenderness between you. Behold! there are signs in this for a people who would reflect.”

This particular verse in the Quran describes how Allah swt places affection and mercy in the hearts of spouses so that they can live a tranquil life together. Allah swt created Hawaa from Adam, from the short rib on his left. Out of Allah's perfect mercy, He made their wives from their own kind that may dwell with love and kindness between them as they raise a family. Anas ibn Malik narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ), said: “Whoever Allah provides with a righteous wife, Allah has assisted him in half of his religion. Let him fear Allah regarding the second half.”

Hadith Tingz

I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "Three supplications are certainly answered without any doubt; the supplication of a father [for his children], the prayers of a traveler [while in journey] and the supplications of the one oppressed..

(Sahih Al-Albani 27:6)

Female Tingz | “Amina and Halima al-Sa’diyya”

May Allah swt be pleased with them. Halima went for a long period of time without food and water and was malnourished. She was not able to nurse her own biological child, but the moment she held the Prophet Muhammad (saw), she was full of milk and her flock was somehow replenished. Amina (as) talked about the light that illuminated from her womb when she was pregnant. As a teenage widow, she did not see her son’s (as) prophethood, but she knew he was special... Halaqah Wrap-Up | Mental Health and Wellness in Islam”

Summary

What is self-talk? Well, it’s the way you talk to yourself or your “inner voice.” Did you know how you talk to yourself can make a big difference in your confidence, happiness, and health? How you talk to yourself can either put obstacles in your way or help you overcome obstacles and achieve more.

This inner dialog you carry in your head is filled with subconscious and conscious beliefs that started in your childhood. This should prompt us to be more aware of how we talk to ourselves.

When we pray, we are in direct communication with Allah swt. It’s more direct than calling someone on the phone. We can instant message each other and that isn’t even as direct as the conversation we have with Allah when we pray.

From our mind to our lips we supplicate the name of Allah swt. The words we use when we pray we are constantly praising Allah swt, which puts our minds at ease. It places positivity in our minds. Allah swt wants us to think well of ourselves. When we think well of ourselves, we know we deserve this life and all it has to offer. We are ready for the ups and downs. Talking to yourself positively helps with obstacles and stresses in life.

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that: The Messenger of Allah (saw) said

“Never a believer is stricken with discomfort, hardship or illness, grief or even with mental worry that his sins are not expiated for him” - Sahih Muslim 2573
